49-51 Yonge Street Condos by SmartLiving
SmartLiving has proposed to preserve and transform two 4-storey heritage buildings at the prime downtown Toronto intersection of Yonge & Wellington into a 60-storey mixed-use tower. Focusing first and foremost on preservation, protection and enhancement of the heritage, the proposed tower will revitalize a prominent corner in the heart of downtown Toronto. With precedent-setting architecture designed by renowned firm architects-Alliance, the contemporary tower will spotlight the heritage building below while contributing a modern silhouette to Toronto’s growing skyline. 69 Yonge Street Condos by H&R REIT
Enhancing a Landmark Building at Yonge & King Revitalization at a Prime Location We are proposing to enhance a landmark building at one of Toronto’s most important intersections: Yonge & King. By keeping the existing heritage building in place and introducing residential uses, the 69 Yonge proposal will better contribute to the vibrancy of the city’s downtown core as a place to work, shop, visit, and live. Heritage Preservation The existing building was originally built between 1911-1913 as the headquarters of the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) company, and our proposal celebrates and preserves its unique architecture, heritage, and overall integrity. The existing building will be retained in the new development as will the current attributes of the heritage tower. New Housing Options This proposal would convert the existing office uses into residential uses and, in doing so, would offer new housing options to downtown Toronto and adjacent to King Street subway station. Specifically, 69 Yonge will contribute more than 100 new residential units to the neighbourhood in a mix of unit types and sizes. Source: 69 Yonge

45 The Esplanade Condos, Toronto ON by Republic Developments
45 The Esplanade is a planned high-rise development in Toronto’s downtown core consisting of two towers above a residential and hotel podium. The mixed-use buildings will house a new 138 unit hotel replacing the existing hotel on site, with complimentary retail uses at grade. The architecture acts as a transition to the changing streetscape along the Esplanade, maintaining an open but covered pedestrian sidewalk condition that offers the benefits of the former colonnade with an improved pedestrian experience.
