INSPIRED BY NATURE
The name of the project, Odea, is based on the Cree word “ode” meaning canoe which will explain the subtle and stylized symbol of the canoe in the architecture.
Located at the gateway to downtown, Odea aims to highlight the presence of the Cree Nation in Montreal through a distinctive project, integrating their values and highlighting some of the characteristics of their culture. The architectural design creates a visual and urban link between the project and its environment. The conceptual approach reveals the unique character of the project while ensuring its urban integration.
A collaboration between Jean-Francois Gagnon, Project Design Principal, with the Indigenous emeritus architect Douglas Cardinal allowed for the exploration of the Cree community symbols and the integration of a strong cultural identity in the project’s architectural composition.

Features & Finishes
Odea Montreal: inspired by nature, a sustainable and evocative project that aspires to a Leed Silver certification. To be in line with this orientation, our designers suggest a range of finishes in this same vein.
Thus, they adopted a variation on a theme: that of the great forests of Quebec. This allusion to nature has prompted them to classify their finish pallets as follows:
Laurentian: a mixed forest with magical colors, especially in autumn, this range allows for bright contrasts. Maroon is very present and reminiscent of walks in the woods.
Boreal: natural and unbleached colors, this series reminds us of the tone of the sand on the edge of a lake and the dried leaves of the deciduous trees. Perfectly soft for cocooning.
Taiga: resistant and sometimes able to withstand harsh climates, this zone plays with contrasts and can show dark, and bewitching looks like the mixed-species it shelters.
