In May 2019, Carlyle jointly acquired a 2.9 acre development site with Slate Asset Management in the popular Danforth Village neighbourhood. Located on the west wide of Dawes Road, just east of Main Street, the property is uniquely positioned as a major transportation hub – immediately adjacent to the Danforth GO Station and steps from the Main Street Subway Station as well as the Line 506 Streetcar. The site is currently improved with a 779 unit self-storage facility professionally managed by Apple Self Storage. The property was acquired with a vision to re-imagine the existing development block through the integration of a new GO Station in partnership with Metrolinx as well as a brand new Main Square Community Centre.
